Mellifera Sambucus Soap
Mellifera = Western honeybees
Sambucus = Elder
This soap is a bit of a love letter to the honeybee. Bees play such a critical role in pollination and we need pollinators so that plants can produce seeds.
This soap features botanicals and essential oils that are grown in Canada.
Many of the ingredients used in creations at The Sage Soap Company are grown at small farms or foraged locally. The three soaps are formulas that are meant to nourish your skin and invigorate your senses in a very Canadian way.
Aside from sounding really cool, Mellifera Sambucus combines some powerhouse local ingredients: honey, beeswax and elderflower. We also created a beautiful subtle essential oil blend of vanilla, lime and ylang ylan, which is a fresh and comforting scent.

There are vitamins, minerals and one enzyme in particular: glucose oxidase.

Traditionally, our herbalist elders, such as Hippocrates, Dioscorides, and Pliney the Elder recognized its strength as a diuretic, diaphoretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and more.
